Cool dragon! I love the flames on the tail. Those scales must have driven you nuts! ^_^
6 Jul 2012:-) Samuel E Martens
That looks like it took a lot of work. I know how long scales take to do. Again you need to darken it down a bit.

ooo i really like this one alot. the scales are excellant. I’m especially fond of dragons right now seeing as its the year of the dragon.

all those scales must have taken a long time to do. are the other three pieces up here?
19 Jul 2012:-) Fredrik K T Andersson
This art is off the scale! Okay, I’ll drop the puns and FIRE away a few comments instead. Okay, seriously now...

I find the anatomy a bit humanoid but I really like the pose because it makes sense to me; a dragon standing up to increase its visual range and destruction of its fire-attack, especially since it has no wings. It also make it appear taller and more frightening.

Side-views like this are a bit boring but looking at your other images I guess it’s meant to have an old heraldic sort of artistic touch to it. Even so I’d like to point out that this really is the way to get started on perspectives. Showing both arms and legs, and those flaming ears/horn, is the first steps towards perspective thinking (make notes kids).

The time spent on the scales are just crazy, but I’ve been there and done that. I now design dragons with a mix of larger scales and smaller scales that are much quicker and easier to draw, but it took some practice how to use that style and "mosaic"-technique to make it look good.

Do listen to Mr. Andersson though. He is awfully good. He know’s what he is talking about.

Again you show talent when it comes to faces, but the scales really make the dragon pop.
