I started this because I had the urge to draw elf ears, and that's the only part I'm truly happy with. He is in pain, but I doubt that it is physical. Tell me if you have any ideas for his story!

The perspective on this piece is wonderful. His ear is amazing, your goal was met and surpassed. I love the way you drew his hair as well. I think that he has lost his first love, whether it be to death or separation, or maybe he is remembering a painful memory from his past.

This elf is a little too realistic for my taste...scary. My dad's ear looks like his. Well done.

:-) Carolyn Joy Whitten replies: "O_O Your dad's ears? Really? Cool! ^_-Thank you for your imput!"

Maybe he did lose someone, or maybe he's thinking about mistakes he's made... I do that a lot. Maybe he's thinking about the mistake he made that resulted in losing a loved one? I dunno... Anyway, great ear. Very great ear.

I really like his facial expression and facial structure. It could be that he has lost a loved one, or made some bad decisions that resulted in that death. However, he could like the elves in LOTR, and he is the last of his race, the pain of loneliness, the weight of all that he is, could be bearing him down. Or perhaps it is the weight of something that he knows is to come, he could be an oracle, and incapable of halting tragic death in the future. There are simply too many scenarios, but your artistic brilliance lays in the allowance of them.

I don't think he is in pain. The line between pain and pleasure can be very close. Maybe he is getting a... foot massage? wink-wink
