Shadows in the Dusk
Creeping 'long the street
beside the lamplight, lit.
Wandering with worry
at wonderings in my head.
At my feet lay the remnants
of some past, forgotton day.
A tell-tale sign of heartbreak
or long lived feelings dead that day.
They lay there scattered and upset
at their fate beneath the stone.
The shadow looked to heaven,
though the motion was it's own.
It shuddered, stood before me,
feeling judged and quite forlorn.
Sides aching with it's sorrow
for the bliss in my ignorance.
A sigh, and sob, rips from deep inside it's chest
Dark eyes lift showing sadness and great unhappy rest
It's arm reaches up with longing before it holds a hand to me
pulling and sinking to darkness...a shadow I will be.
