err i didn’t understand a word you said in french!!! i’ve been learning german for 3 years now and i am definatly going to continue after i leave school and go to art college!!! im from Cumbria!!! the lake district! heard of it? its a great place! shame we are surrounded my swine flu. i love nightwish aswell!!!! they are so cool!!!! i like nemo! i’ll speak to my mum once i get back from school! im in maths at the moment. ich hasse mathe. >< anyway. i guess i’d better go and do my damn algebra.

yeah three years. i’ve another two years of geman! and i might take it when i go to year 12 and 13 as well.... hmm.... ill consider it. yeah im wanting to go to an art college. figners crossed! i wasn’t actually listening to my maths teacher. none of my class was. we were all playing games on the computer instead! XD. what do you mean ’what grade do you visit?’

i still dont know what you mean about the grade thing. i dont think my school works that same way as yours. but sure i’ll correct you if you make a mistake. ooo i feel so honoured. sorry im a bit depressed at the moment. a fox has killed two of my hens and i have to sit out all night with my rifle and scope and snipe it if i see it.

Anja Gabi Weiß replies: "you’re joking, aren’t you? i mean, you don’t really have a rifle, do you?are you living on a farm? i’m a pity for your hens. when i was a child, i always lost my cats. and even my horse. but - would you really kill a fox? i don’t know if i could do this. about the grade...I think it’s american english and that’s more what we learn at school. maybe the correct word is school year. so...smile again! Life is beautiful!"

no im not joking. i dont live on a farm but i live about 10 miles from any civilisation so yeah i kind of need it to protect my livestock. it isn’t actually my rifle. its my dads. i have been trained with a rifle because my dad takes my game bird shooting each year so i know what i am doing. im sorry about your cats and horse. i have never had a cat or a horse. i only get exotic pets like snakes, bearded dragons and parrots, but i do have hens and ducks too. sadly yes i would kill a fox. i would rather keep the animals that i’ve had for 2 years than the fox that i dont actually own. i know its sad and its a shame but hey.... the circle of life.

oh i understand the grade thing now!!! i am in year 9, almost going into year 10. another 7 weeks. that makes my 14 this year by the way. how about you? do you still go to school?

oh and by the way, when you say ’i’m a pity of your hens’ in english we say ’IT’S a pity for your hens’. just so you know. i can help you with things like that if you like.

Gosh! it’s the same thing with me! the next village is about 2 or 3 km away. but in germany gun possesion is handled much stricter than in GB. you have to have a license for owning weapons and no underage would ever be allowed to use a gun. i think in your case it’s ok, but maybe you’ve read about this dreadful incident in germany a few weeks ago, when a student went to his school and killed so many people. So i really can understand why it#s actually not allowed to have a gun. but...i have to admit that i also like rifles and shooting. Cool, you have really extraordinary animals!!
I’m in year 11, that means another two years for me(our schooltime is really long, on the other side you can learn a lot(like English e.g.!))And i’m 16 going on 17. Oh thank you for the correction!!!don’t laugh about me! (I’m doing this myself veeery often)

cool. shame about the incident so you spend 13 years at school?

Anja Gabi Weiß replies: "Yeah. Really a hard time. Okay, well, sometimes...if i would study it would probably be...In year 12 you can choose the... there’s no word for it in English, it’s Leistungskurs in German. There are two subjects to choose as major, but you have to keep most of the others too. I’ve chosen English and History as main course."

i think we call it ’options’. i know what you mean though. my brothers in year 12 at the moment and he’s taking chemistry and music.

Anja Gabi Weiß replies: "But that can’t be exactly the same cause we have to take one main subject like maths or languages and than another may be sports or geographics etc. How many years do english pupils have to go to school? 13 like us? Viele Grüße und lern schön weiter Deutsch!"

yes thats the same. we have the choice of leaving at 11 years but im going to stay on for 13. then we have a choice of going to college
