I hadn't realized how long it had been since I first read this tiny slice of Heaven... Some small corners of Elfwood possess a special something that sets them apart - this is one of them... William A. Clayton replies: "Sir James, it is always an honor to have you stop by. My thanks for doing so, and for your good words..." | |
| 1 Dec 2003 | Kristin L. Thomas | Loading...Very nice poem. I swear I could almost hear it! William A. Clayton replies: "That is most kind, Kristin, and I am sure you are able to hear the angels sing...." | |
| 9 Jan 2004 | Megs L Lune | Loading...This would be just the kind of thing that you would want to hear right before you go to sleep....kinda reminds you of something your mother would sing to her child (if she could sing!) This is awesome, you feel really at piece after reading this! Great job! William A. Clayton replies: "Thanks! I dose off everytime I try and sing it! (kidding! heheh) The peaceful time, that's what this song is about. Thanks for tuning in.." | |
| 16 Jan 2004 | Christina Lee | Loading...This is awesome! It's so beautiful...^_^ I wish I had your talent.... William A. Clayton replies: "Thank you, kindly. Though I am sure you underplay your own talents, I am glad you enjoyed mine." | |
| 19 Jan 2004 | Susan 'Sugar' Remondi | Loading...This is amazing. My day has been rather disappointing (and it's only 10:15 in the morning!), but by the second verse, I was smiling. This is a very beautiful piece, and I'm sure you could get it published, if you haven't already. It could be one of those framed poems that I just want to hang up in my bedroom and read over and over again.. William A. Clayton replies: "*smiles* Thank you, Susan, It is a worthy image to strive for, being pubished and all, and I hope your day improves. And that tomorrow is even better." | |
| 2 Mar 2004 | L. Shanra Kuepers | Loading...*is torn between silent awe and grand applause* This was beautiful. It really sounds like a song, as you said it is (or at least that's how I read that). It's beautiful, magical and oh so wonderful. ^_^ I wish I could write poetry like this... Alas, I can nay rhyme very often or very well. But all that envious talk aside. I loved this! It's absolutely beautiful! I, too, however haev to nitpick on the use of 'thru', but simply because it seems to me to upset the flow of the piece. This, I alo MUST note, is merely that I am not used to the word, nor think itlooks good (grammatically correct or not). So just ignore this if you wish, it's just my opinion. The poem is absolutely beautiful the way it is. ^_^ William A. Clayton replies: "Ah, well, thanks for your praise. On the growing "thru" controversy, all those who use it or can stand it are welcome here, and those who do not, or abhor it, are welcome as well. We'll get thruh, er thurh, um, thru, oh, through,(All the same word) it all somehow. Each to their own. If someone refuse to read my work due to my use of that word, I can only hope I can manage to survive. "Theatrical hand to head and stricken look"" | |
| 3 Mar 2004 | Samantha F. Baun | Loading...As I was reading this, it seemed as if a pure soprano voice was singing along softly. Beautifully done. William A. Clayton replies: "Thank you, Samantha, I am sure that was your own spirit, singing along." | |
| 7 Apr 2004 | L. E. White | Loading...Well, I am another one visiting you thanks to Amber Silver's tour. And thanks is due indeed, for this poem was a lovely and moving experience. When I was a child and tears would come to my mother's eyes in moments when I thought she should be experiencing happiness and joy I would say, "But Mommy I thought you'd be happy", and she would say "I am. That's why I'm crying." That didn't make sense to me for a very long time. But as the years have passed I have come to understand precisely that feeling of being so overcome with one's joy that the body literally overflows with it. Reading this I could feel it. I could hear it. Some music comes from within and stays with you forever. Thank you for opening a window to this music. Your words are beautiful. William A. Clayton replies: "Yes, Amber's tour does bring visitors to my area, and glad I am of it. Your own tale is as moving as any of mine could ever be, L E White, and I am grateful for it. Thank you for reading and commenting upon my song, and sharing your own..." | |
| 6 Dec 2004 | B. Layne Weaver | Loading...Greetings! I have been delivered here by the tour-bus *points to tour icon at top of screen* This really is a lovely piece. Gave me goosebumps! Reading things like this is a nice way to spend an evening after a day of yardwork. Great job William A. Clayton replies: "Thanks, Brandi!! Maybe I should have hot chocolate and doughnuts for you tour members!!!" | |
| 9 Jul 2006 | Robert Hansen | Loading...It's really good, and you can almost hear a song when you're listening to it. Really good job William A. Clayton replies: "Thank you, Robert. and I am glad that folks are still coming here and reading it as well." | |
