| 20 May 2003 | MarsMusa | Loading...I have seen akira. Plenty of times. And it does remind me of akira, even without reading the text at the top. Only exception is that he seems more wired up than akira does (after all, he just replaces his arm). It is also an excellent picture of what I view as a shadowrun antagonist. A REALLY good one at that. Why, you wonder? Because I hate stereotypical bad guys, I like antagonists that have their own agenda to follow and doesn't necessarily like messing with the PCs, they view it as necessary to complete their own goal. If you understand what I mean. If the PCs make a deal with them or make too much trouble for them, they often back out or try a different approach.
About this character, I view this as some sort of combination magic-machine gone bad. A possibility would be a man-spirit that has been stuck in material form, and tries desperately to get out of it. Or "just" a human (maybe an adept) whose magic has been interfered with by machines. In any case, he should have the power to affect anything technical, voluntarily or not. At least when the PCs target him with their usual weaponry. Blackening out cybereyes when looking at him, messing up smartlinks, computers, deckers, you name it. Let them handle that one. More fun for the adept or magician, I guess. | |
