21 Feb 2003	Anonymous	Loading... I think the pigtail was done by a conquering guy who had beaten them with horses. It was done to humiliate the people. Anyways... very nice pic, dramatic and spooky. .................. PLEASE DON'T KILL HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22 Feb 2003	Amanda	Loading... The first comment about the que (pigtail) is correct. It was a sign of submission to the emperor in China during the Manchurian dynasty. Japanese samurai are typically portrayed as having their hair up in a top knot like thing. However, the idea seems practical. It would keep his hair out of the way while fighting and this is a fantasy art gallery so historical accuracy doesn't need to be applied.
