| 10 Dec 2002 | Nikki Resendes | Loading...This one is one of my favorite. She is very realistic looking, her pose is wonderful, looks like she was caught by surprise. Her dress is gorgeous, it looks so real!! Wendy Van Camp replies: "Thanks for the comment, Nikki. Rio is my favorite character and I've used her in a few of my images. I've gotten mixed reviews on this one. Some love the pose, others hate it. At least the image does seem to bring out strong opinions." | |
| 16 Oct 2003 | Tony | Loading...I do love the post, the fountain, the background, everything! The only thing I noticed that I'd like to have added is more of her hair. Not that it all has to hang over her shoulders or what not, but maybe a glimpse of it behind her neck or something. Otherwise...I'm genuinely impressed! Great work again! =) Wendy Van Camp replies: "Thanks for the comment. It is always great to hear from people about my artwork. I have had others remark about the hair on Rio, however this particular RPG character always wore her hair up and close to her head. So in this case, the hair was done this way because that is how the character was protrayed." | |

| 12 Dec 2003 | Christy J. Nicholas | Loading...I agree with the consensus... the colors, the dress, the pose, all wonderful. It gets rid of a lot of that 'poser' look, and looks much more real. This is my favorite of all of your gallery here It even captures the haughty look of all sedai! Wendy Van Camp replies: "Thanks Christy. Rio is one of my favorites too. There are times when I think she turned out too stiff, but you are right in that this is the way an Aes Sedai would behave, even one of the Grey Ajah. I love doing game portraits, they are a heck of a lot of fun. " | |
| 12 Jan 2004 | Eva Soley Eliasdottir | Loading...Hey. how did you do this picture??, it is amazing. but I am still confused?? Wendy Van Camp replies: "Rio is a composite of several digital graphic programs merged together in Paint Shop Pro. She was created in Poser via a custom morphed model. Then I created her pose and wardrobe in Poser. Next I custom paint all the textures on the "objects". Her skin, the details of her dress, her hair, ect. All this is combined together in poser. Then I create the background. Again, I select the virtual object props, arrange them, paint their textures and then work on the lighting, blocking and camera angles. When all this is completed I "snap a picture" of Rio in her environment. I take this picture into Paint Shop Pro where I paint in more details, give her a oil based finished and other photographic details." | |
| 31 Mar 2004 | Jessica Lynn Cochran | Loading...Very beautiful! I find it hard to believe you did it in just 5 hours! I've recently started experimenting with poser, but I still have some trouble with it. Lots to learn! lol You truly have a talent for using it! Great work! Wendy Van Camp replies: "Thank you Jessica. I love Poser and have been using it as one of my main graphical programs for around four years now. I don't think that I created anything worth showing for at least 18 months...so hang in there. It is a hard program to master and honestly, you MUST have an understanding of traditional painting techniques and photographry/cinematography to master it, but in the end I feel that it is well worth the effort.
