I am a performance artist, dancer, and fine artist, and the sole proprietor of Icon Alchemy fine art and performance productions. I am also a partner in the Art-in-Gaming company Owl and Crow, a founding staff member of the TempleCon gaming convention, and a founding member of the Atomic Immersion Collaborative, the creators of full-immersion performance installations such as the Orange Orgy, an all-ages colour-themed event at the science fiction/fantasy convention Arisia 2004, and Chaos Theory, a similar-style event for Arisia 2006. I am also a fine art model, and I frequently create my own costumes for modeling and performing. I compose music and song lyrics, and on occasion sing and play the violin. And last but not least, I have been a devoted role-player since 1986.
I enjoy creating in a variety of media, and in a variety of dimensions. My illustrative work is profoundly influenced by the work of 19th-century illustrators such as Howard Pyle, Edmund Dulac, Aubrey Beardsley, and William Blake, comic book illustrators such as Bernie Wrightson, P. Craig Russell, and Dave McKean, and Magic the Gathering artists Quinton Hoover, Ron Spencer, and Rebecca Guay. My paintings are predominantly Expressionist, Symbolist, and Surrealist in temperament, with mythic and/or horror overtones. I also create decorative artworks, such as quilted work and painted cedar boxes, as well as murals and other interior decorations, and I am a big fan and occasional practitioner of installation art.
