| 22 Oct 2005 | Erik Jensen | Loading...I'm known for being critical. I don't like leaving a comment without some (hopefully) constructive criticism. So therefore: Take what you can use, and let the gulls have the rest. The first two lines work well. Then I cringed at the word 'lullaby'. Too cliché for my taste. Then comes the word 'worms'! That just doesn't fit the mood you're creating, does it? And talking of worms as 'fine' just throws me. And then, of course, the waves don't make much noise at the bottom of the sea, do they? You'll have to be close to shore for that to happen. And describing that sound as a 'tune' also seems to miss the mark. Now, most people don't notice this, and I probably wouldn't have either, if I hadn't stumbled on the earlier words. So anyway, those were just some five pennies' worth. | |
