This is the real reason daisies seem to disappear at the beginning of Autumn - they've been pinched for umbrellas.

This poor little madame is an example of me finally trying to get stuck into watercolours.. Though I cheated and used a black fineliner too. Some of the detail, as usual, has been killed by the scanner, making my attempt at a wet and nasty looking sky even less convincing - if anyone has any advice on painting wind and rain, please do share!

this is a real smart picture. The costume is excirlent and the idea is fantastic lol. I love the originality of it. My ony suggestion would be to add more intensity to her limbs so it would give more of a suggestion of how strong the wind is. Enough to drag her. Hope that makes sense lol. I am not the best with words.

I don't know how you'd feel about it, but my favorite watercolor technique is the crayon first. For water and sky, it adds a lovely accent that pops when you put the colors of it (especially nice for a dark sky, since it's so hard to see lines on dark colors-do them in crayon!) A little practice could make this a beloved tool of yours!

:-) Kristy Moir replies: "You mean use the waxy property of the crayons, and paint over them? That sounds like it could be really useful for a wet sky. Possibly just the trick I need - I'll give it a go. Thanks 2"
