This is a commission that I did for Matt Howes (Dante)and I must say, this was a pleasure to do. My first Drider and I think that I pulled it off rather well. The markings on her legs I got from 'Starship Troopers'. I think it gives it more of an otherworldly insect look. She works for a Thieves Guild and uses her webs as rope,plus the mere sight of a five and a half foot tall half-spider half-Drow would scare the $#![ out of anyone!! Enjoy!

To the above point, I agree. Besides, how could a species of driders exist with only males???? I think you did a good job, Kevin. Who cares about RPGs? You are an excellent artist.

To those who say females aren't turned into driders: Maybe she chose the form and transformed herself! And, as the rest of the commenters tend to agree, it's art, at's fantasy, ANYTHING is possible, by definition of fantasy.

Ok...to add my two cents into the gold pile (heh)

*ahems*

As far as everything I've looked up and read about on driders confirms (which is alot since I'm currently working towards Roleplaying one) Driders can be male or female...and may I just say this is a VERY good example of a female one.

Besides, Lloth herself has a drider form *prods Maniac Man towards DnD 3E's Deities and Demigods book, or the FR Races of Faerun book* and her priestesses would mimick that form from time to time I bet...not to mention Kimberly's explanation, which definitly sounds like Lloth.

But aside from rants ^^';

This piece of art is really awesome! I hope to see more drider drawings by you in the future, Kevin...be they male or female ^_^

I see you gave her the body of a blackwidow, ;-) good detail on the body but I don't think widows have stripes on their legs.
