SciFi and Fantasy Art Unicorn Calvary by Kevin H. Yancey

I drew this in pencil and ink, then coloured it in Coloured pencil. Usually, I do all of my colouring in Photoshop and Painter. The story is....On the battlefield, when things are looking grim, a person can call upon the gods to send the Unicorn Calvary. Sometimes, these prayers aren't answered, but when they are, these near-mythical beings ride onto the battlefield on majestic Unicorns and kill the evil. After the battle, they leave just as suddenly as they arrived. The survivors of the battle, good or evil, have fragmented and contrasted stories of what happened. That is how the Unicorn Calvary got it's reputation as being a myth.

My one... uh... well, it's not even a complaint, but I'm pretty sure Calvary was a christian name for the mountain where Christ died. In conclusion I think you meant cavalry; either that or since I'm Canadian we just spell all queerily. I still like the picture though.
4 Jun 2004	Darweenn	Loading... Very good picture, love the pose, the armour and the facial expression...just one little thing Her heart is protected by the armour, but not her belly ^^ If she's a warrior, it's a vital point to protect isn't it ?
11 Jun 2004	Anonymous	Loading... On the spelling, it was an affectation, possibly deriving from an accent, of the pre- WW I US Army to deliberately mis-spell it 'calvry' rather than 'cavalry'. All them westerns, y'see, pardner. Personally 'd have liked to see some of the unicorn.
