SciFi and Fantasy Art Dreaming With The Stars by Yelitza María Vélez

Re did old drawing in watercolors to use for my portfolio. Obviously, the original looks much better, nevermind that scanner butchers up the colors, but eh well, it's in the portfolio and the people that need to see it in it's true colors, will, so that's what matters.

Child Storybook type illustration, where a bear cub is granted one wish, and he wishes to be up in the sky with the moon and the stars.

This is really cute though ) this would be an absolute perfect picture to frame and hang in a kid's room or something ) just very innocent and pretty ) Yelitza María Vélez replies: "Thanks, I did keep thinking of it as a children's story book illustration.Hmm, power of the mod. I'm a moderator you see, and one of the perks, ok the only perk, of being a moderator is that we can ask a fellow moderator to process our ticket for us. However, we cannot process our ticket ourself, it must be done by another moderator. It's our reward for doing so much hard work and putting up with the things we put it with. It's our only reward, but it's a goon one."

I had fun ding the shading because I had been trying to get it to come like that for soemt ime now, and it was when I wasn't thnking hard about it and just clicking on the canvas in random spots that it came out the way I wanted it to. Believe it or not, it's the first time I've managed to get this style of shading."

Oh 1st comment dance! Yelitza María Vélez replies: "Moderator secret... All mods can have their tickets published right away. We don't mod our tickets our oursleves, but we can ask a fellow mod to mod it for us. This is what I did. It's our reward for working hard and not receiving anything in return, this is the only perk to being a moderator."

I always wish i knew how to draw skies and seas - so not easy, well i dont think it is but you've done it and done it grreat. Anywayz... Great job! Yelitza María Vélez replies: "Aww, thanks! I don't consider myself someone who knows how to draw skies and seas well... I just... I dunno, it's all observation. My twin sister is a painter, so I like to watch her learn and pick up on some of her techniques, and I ask around, if I see an effect or something that has me going "how did the do that?!" I ask that artist, send them a polite email or write in their guestbook. They usually reply back. I also try to obverse nature around me, you learn a lot from just that."
