Okay, I just think this is quite funny.. Today I read HBP (Half Blood Prince) on Swedish.. And this remind me of when Fawkes sings.. when he's so sad.. And after that, he slowly, slowly disappear in the heaven.... A last scream, and he's gone.

okay, I wasn't done commenting. I don't know what that was all about, but maybe I accidentally pressed something without realizing it.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that the effect gives the impression that this is the spirit of the Phoenix. It's so ethereal. And did you loosely base it on the heron? Just curious.

This is quite beautiful, I love your choice of complimentary colors. It looks ghostly, almost skeletal, yet so alive with its soft glow.
