| 12 Oct 2005 | Carolin Emily Southern | Loading...I painted an oriental dragon once, a pair of them actually, but I gave the painting away before I ahd chance to upload it. I love your dragon, and the colours are gorgeous. Blue is such a nice colour. C. Clayton replies: "Thanx for all the comments! ...and for all the comp's as well. Blue is certainly a personal favorite of mine and a most wonderful and beautiful section of the spectrum." | |
| 2 Nov 2005 | Anonymous | Loading...Hmmmm, this drawing is suspiciously different in style and technical ability from your other images. I don't buy the fact that you suddenly went from embarrassingly amateurish to passably competent. If you are passing off others' artwork as your own then shame on you. If I'm wrong, shame on me and congrats to you. You are in the wrong on several accounts... I imagine that happens often, though like in this case you may continue on oblivious or ignorant of it. May you prosper each time you lift another up and deminish each time you put another down. | |
| 3 Nov 2005 | Anonymous | Loading...I don't see how I can be wrong on "several accounts", as you say, when I am only accusing you on one account. I'm not bringing you down either because If you really did create this artwork as an original, then as I said, I congratulate you. I also admitted the possibility that I may be wrong. Unfortunately I must also admit that after viewing your other works in detail, I must stand by my initial accusation. By all means, please prove me wrong by showing more of your newly acquired talent... and perhaps grace us with the secret of your instant improvement. It doesn't add up. Plus the general attitude of your comments throughout the postings shows a cockiness and inhumility shared by the usual hacks and charlatans of the world. Again, please prove me wrong and I will gladly rescind this harsh accusation. C. Clayton replies: " If you have seen some of my recently posted, older work then you can see that the dates on them are nearly 21 years older than this piece. That is hardly a sudden or instant change. It took me a long time to get this good and lots of practice. It is ironic to me that as an artist who has made more of an effort than most throughout my life NOT to copy others people's work. That of all people I would be accused of doing so. But You don't know me so... You don't know or understand what my work means to me, or what honesty or integrity mean to me either. So, I guess you can think anything you like. I have no way to prove to you this work is mine. But I Can say this, if anyone else claims to have created my works or claims I copied thiers... They are a liar. I created them and still own most of the originals (including this one). So, Please let me know if you find any work that you think I may have copied as it might be the other way around ...and I'd like to know about it. BTW I'm not cocky or a "hack" and I know I'm not a great artist. But I am proud of my work and this piece is one of my best. I am just a bonehead who has been doin' this since I was a kid. So rescind or don't, it won't change the truth. This work is mine. Best to y', C" | |

| 20 Jul 2007 | Suzzanne Linklottle | Loading...Breath taking, really. There are so many ways to look at this subject...it is a wolf, is it a dragon - celestial perhaps....the colour choices build the mood as well. Wonder what he would look like in red tones??? Love YOUR work...well done. C. Clayton replies: "I like the idea of the red palette version. I'll have to try it and see if it looks good or not. Fortunately I have gotten in the habit of keeeping almost all of my original drawing in clean line Black and white... making such ideas more easily tryed. Best to you and thanx again for all the nice comments, C" | |
| 16 Aug 2007 | Kevin | Loading...That is probably the coolest damn dragon I've ever seen!!! Good work !!!! You should do one for me C. Clayton replies: "Thanx... I am quite happy with this one. Some guy accussed me of not doing it myself because he thought it was so much better than my other stuff I couldn't have drawn it. That was his opinion of course. I wish we had made a bet on it. Anyhow, Thanx for all the comments!" | |
