I thought this place was too anal with their fantasy crap a couple of years ago, but now they're taking it too far), but I just thought I'd give you this link: http://www.maxxsoul.com I think you'll like his stuff, especially the Granado Espada stuff under 'Projects.' Anyway, catch you later man. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Hey, thanks for that link, man! That stuff is awesome! Anything that helps inspire me to do more work these days is welcome. Interestingly, the Mods just announced that they'll be softening the stance on "borderline" fantasy art now... I may still upload some stuff every now and again. Time will tell." | |
| 19 Oct 2005 | Mike | Loading...What type of pencil did you use on the Nervous Oni one....nice drawings.... Zachariah Campbell replies: "I think the Oni drawing was probably done with a basic 0.9 HB mechanical pencil... nothing exotic. The line looks a bit heavier because it's actually a very small drawing (like an inch tall). Plus, I punched up the contrast a bit in photoshop and added the sepia tone, of course.Glad you like my drawings! " | |
| 13 Dec 2005 | Ilanir | Loading...My AP art teacher hates me sooo much because I wont conform to the basic 'High school style' art that 'wins' at the competitions. She never gives me any nice comments on my fantasy stuff but hey, I bet I make more than her selling my art. It's just nice to know that others are frustrated at the school art world for their narrow mindedness on a subject that is meant to be open to personal expression and interpretation. I love it all by the way! Especially the little leaf guy, I love surrealism Cheers! Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks! I mean, not to totally disparage my time at art school... I learned a lot of great stuff there, and I'm far less bitter about the experience than other folks I know. I love all art, even the pretentious stuff. But it is a shame that there's such a stigma attached to illustrative work now, especially fantasy work.Considering how popular fantasy is right now though, I guess we should feel embarassed all the way to the bank, eh? Oh and btw, I liked your previous TF artwork also(I even seen fans of my art there too). Zachariah Campbell replies: "It’s been a few years since I watched GGG... the fansubs that were around at the time were excellent. Made me feel like a kid again! I think Episode 15 is my top fave. It’s got everything! " | |
