SciFi and Fantasy Art F08a: La Muerta by Zachariah Campbell

' Emerging undefeated from the South American pit-fight scene, the enigmatic competitor known only as La Muerta, has demonstrated a perfection and efficiency of technique unheard of in one so young. Since her appearance on the unlimited-class circuit, she has not lost a single match, despite having no apparent paranormal powers or cybernetic enhancements. Her Chi control on the other hand, and her mastery of Ninja magic, is nothing short of terrifying.

Disturbingly she has proven also to have no compunctions about taking lives in the arena, and will often dispatch an opponent in a single pass. This is accomplished with an utter lack of concern or emotion, bordering on disinterest.

At the current time, she is in semi-retirement, accepting only direct challenges. Nonetheless, her name is spoken in hushed, almost superstitious whispers among the communtiy of fighters.'

La Muerta belongs to my futuristic "fighting game" setting, where cyborgs and mutants duke it out with gods and super-ninjas. This is a fairly old piece I recently put some finishing touches on...
