SciFi and Fantasy Art Gryphlynn by Zachariah Campbell

Gryphlynn is a bounty hunter character from an old fantasy role-playing setting. She's tough and she doesn't take any BS, generally speaking. However, there's something softer in her face in this pic... bemused slightly? What do you think?

Anyway, I quite like this piece. The blue filter is kind of take-it-or-leave-it... right now I'm liking it. I guess that's the nature of computer-finishing your drawings: you never have to make any permanent decisions! :)

First off the blue does make the picture look really good, I like the attention to detail in the armor, mainly the fact there are stitches in it, and the nose was well done, I think that would have to be my favorite part of the picture or at least part. Definetly a nice nose... Zachariah Campbell replies: "That's nice to hear. A friend of mine was complaining that I simplify my noses too much, which may be partially true... but when you're stylising a face, there are all sorts of options I guess. "

I almost never do one tone pics, this is soooooo much better than the guy who dose the comic War Lands ( I say that cus your ideas seem more orginal) She almost gives off an "Holy" warror feel. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks! I don't know why, but I generally don't like those "anime" styled US comics. There's something about the colouring and art that seems very static when brought to a comic medium, I find. But whatever... I'm a curmudgeon. "

Zachariah Campbell replies: "I guess when it comes to costumes, particularly for RPG characters, I just look at what the character has on paper, and then think "Okay, how can I make this look cool and distinct?". Sometimes, just for fun, I return to old character drawings from ages ago that I don't really like anymore, and challenge myself to make the same basic costume look good, or more realistic. That's what happened for Gryphlynn here. "
