It's like one part of him is is in the shadow and the other is in the sunlight. Nice work. Keep it up. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Yeah... that's me experimenting with graduated tones and textures, which I just noticed that they use in manga all the time, to great effect. So look for more of that kind of thing.PS: It's a girl. She's just very butch. "

Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks so much for your comment! I'm not exactly the most "PC" artist around, but I do like to broaden the representation when I can. Plus, butch girls are cool. "
| 26 Jan 2005 | Darren | Loading...right on! A finished sketch with a good amount of detail and expressiveness. Now if we can just get you to do backgrounds... Zachariah Campbell replies: "Y'know, when I look around at a lot of my favourite character art, most of it doesn't have backgrounds either. I'm not convinced that having a background is even necessary in many cases. Often I find that they're mere distractions from the character. But then, if I was actually an aspiring comic book artist, then obviously, backgrounds would be a lot more important. " | |
