This is a D&D character I made, but never really got a chance to use much. Which is too bad, because I like him.

He's kind of an evil knight/captain-of-the-guards type, but in service to a good ruler, whom he follows loyally. Of course, he's really not a good guy, but he serves righteousness and the code of chivalry, even if he's kind of a prick. I guess the concept was to play with the notion of what 'evil' could mean inside the context of the game.

You can see that he's got an 'evil eye', and milky white hair... the result of a run-in with a supernatural creature that nearly killed him, and left him a bit... haunted.

Oh, and if anyone feels like pointing out that his scabbard is way too thin to sheath that sword... bite me. ;)

When you say that he's evil, yet in service to a good ruler, is he corrupt, or just merciless, and unswerving?

And I figure that his scabbard is one of those cheap, leather-dealies.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "He conforms to the latter rather than the former. He's evil in the cruel, honest, orderly kind of way. The scabbard is, uh... magical. Yeah, that's it..."

Nicely detailed. If you picture him with two normal eyes he just looks very strict, but the other eye makes him look wicked and rather ruthless.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Excellent! Thanks, that's exactly the personality I wanted to convey. I don't know why I gave him the "evil-eye" but it just seemed to fit. "

I like the sword, it looks like an actual historical sword...I'm not a huge fan of most fantasy swords, they look so non functional, any way did you notice the scabbard is to small for the sword...sorry I had to say it.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!Uh... it's spandex?I agree... a lot of "fantasy" swords just don't have the charm of solid, simple, authentic crosshilts... at least in a medieval european-style setting. "

This guy seems to belong to the group of people who experienced so much fights, battles and slaughters that nothing and no one can scare him in any way. He's a warrior without passion, he does what he must do. That doesn't mean he's a mindless killer, he just does his job, and that makes him evil in the eyes of some others... now that are my thoughts when I look at this nice piece of art. Please tell me if I'm wrong about him.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "You got it right on! He's also an authoritarian... not for the sake of his ego, but because he adheres to strict order. Kindness is not in his nature. In retrospect, this guy strikes me as a very George RR Martin-style character, though I only started reading his books this past year. Thanks for your excellent comments! 2"
