This character came out of a game session with a GM who was feeling particularly permissive. The concept is a half-angel, but not your typical winged androgyne variety. Instead, I went with the descriptions from the old-testament sources and stuff... the multi-winged, multi-armed, abstract types.

I wanted to create a creature that was clearly beyond human, but still beautiful. It didn't occur to me till later that she looks more like some kind of hindu deity.

This is basically a loosely coloured sketch I did during a slow day at the office... in fact, all the original colour was done with a variety of high-lighters, which I then adjusted the hue of using photoshop. The sword was unfinished for quite a while until I recently slapped some colour on it.

I think it's a very cool illustration. The posture and sword are obviously menacing, but the expression is remote, detached. I think the breasts are fine where they are, given the posture and the rest of its (because it is an "it", really) physiology. Cool picture.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks. I agree... "she" really comes across as the remote, divine kind of creature here you might expect... and not necessarily terribly feminine in manner. My other drawings of this character definitely play her as more girlish. "

HECK YEAH! *salutes* She (...um...it?) Rocks! Love the colors! *sobs cause everyone can draw multiple wings but her, it seems* Love the addition of the hair down the front. Nice detail. 2

*hums the theme of the smurfs as she wonder if the yellow across teh chest is a tattoo or fur*
Awesome, I really like this. The sketch quality is there and deep within, and the colors are so precise and clean, its just a well-rendered pic.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks Kel... glad you dig 2And yeah, it's fur all down her front and on her shins. If you could see her back, she'd have more there too, gold like the wings."

Meh, this is AWESOME. It reminds me of a seraphim, since they have 3 pairs of wings and 3 heads. I love the sword, though some of her armor seems to have gone missing...eep. I love her skin color!!!!

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Well, she's not really wearing any armour at all here... but I DID draw an armoured version too. I should post it sometime. "

...the fate of the crossbreed is sad indeed... but being 'freakish' and not evil or god/demon controlled opens an oft abandoned genre. She/it/he... but mostly *she* has the power of vergeance without the divine right... utterly fallible yet branded by others with the curse of having to live up to the infallibles' standards. Not-avatar status can be heartbreaking. Does she get to see her parents? The style of the picture reminds me of Hindu art; the serene expression, the obvious power to destroy, the infinite beauty... very Shiva-esque. Odd that there has only been 'western' names applied to her.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Wow... that's quite a comment! I'm glad you like her... you've certainly hit on an element of the character I wanted to explore! All the Hindu associations actually popped up -after- I drew the character... originally I was just working from OT texts and stuff, but there IS a resemblance, for sure. Of course "Ofaniel" is a hebrew name I cribbed from some obscure angel I found reference to. Not exactly "western" so much as "middle-eastern" in that case."

Are you serious about this? I find myself somewhat shocked and disturbed to find there's a biblical precedent for certain Digimon...

dunno why, but the colors remind me of Tutenkhamun's mask... dunno. Gold and lapiz lazuli? Apologies for the spelling

I love hir! In ancient jewish texts, the angels were hermaphrodites (androgynes) same difference. One as an angel is wicked! Hooray for blue hermaphrodites. (Wicked in a good angelic way I mean. 1 Also do you call it a "hir" "her" or "him"? ??? ??????????????????????

ok, so I'm obsessed with breasts, but admit it! They are too high!

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "You ARE obsessed. This is the second time you commented on this one, and on her breasts, you perv! 2Sorry dude, but you don't have much of a leg to stand on in this particular case. I mean, not only are her arms raised, but she has two sets of arms! Her waist is long enough to accomodate a second navel. She walks on a 3-inch cushion of air that keeps her from ever touching the ground. You really think that the laws of biology or gravity apply to her?! 12 "
