This is actually a recent pic I did for a friend on his birthday. That's him running from the 'google-monsters' (I have no idea why I called them that).

In the end, this was mounted as a retro-pulp sci-fi comic-book cover, complete with word-bubbles, colours and a title logo, but that's all superfluous photoshop jazz... I think I still like this plain drawing better, because it's (for me) a reasonably succesful foray into a different style than my usual.

Oh, and the composition was loosely based on some comic-book cover (forget which).

Hey again Zac,

Great pic, (google monsters? Google monsters?) Nice homage (not copy, homage) to the 50's and the comic book that lent the look of it. To jog your memory, it was the cover to an issue of Wildstorm's Stormwatch. So you can stop wracking your brains to where you got it from.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Yeah, that would be the one. The friend who requested this pic showed it to me to give an idea of what he wanted... though what's here is from memory, so I don't quite know how close to the Stormwatch cover it is..."

I would be frightened too if monsters used a search engine to run their society. Can you do a picture on the Altavistars or Yahooans? Cool picture.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "A heh-heh-heh-heh... heh... hrm. Kill this man. 12"

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the care for instructions on the previous critter. It explicitely says -DO NOT FEED AFTER MIDNIGHT-

Well, I'm not as excited as 'cartoonist' up there; but I'm about ready to jump the Hero's bones. . .let me guess; that's you right? 12 I like Google-Monsters; great name!

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "That's kind of funny... no, it wasn't intended to be me, though the head does actually kind of look like me 6 years ago when I still had crazy long hair (I won't lay any claims to that physique though!). Ah, well... they say that every drawing is a self-portrait on some level. 2 Actually, this was basically a commission for my friend (the guy getting chased by google-monsters), and since he's gay, I suspect that his "hero" might lean that way too... see, you can't tell here, but his space-suit is mauve. 12"

So is your friend the one looking frantic and freaked out... Or the hot one with the long hair and muscles? ^-^
awesome picture!!!!!

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "He's the frantic one. The hot one is his manly rescuer. Or something like that. 2"

Very good! Though the shoulder on your warrior could start a little further back on his body

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Yeah, I agree... there's definitely something wrong with that shoulder. Also, he has no neck, almost literally. Ah, well... I can only try better in the future. 2"

cool bubbly muscles...Your great at shading! I agree about the shoulder though.
