A friend of mine once designed a fantasy-themed strategy board-game for his nephew, which involved literally hundreds of little personality, item and event cards. Fortunately the crew at the time comprised a lot of artists, and we all contributed large numbers of these tiny character portraits. I think my tally alone was about 40-odd of these.

Some of these have been up here before...

Top Row: Admiral Frenzy, Jim the Skeleton, Nameless desert warrior

Middle Row: General Craniac, Lord Krag, some generic knight

Bottom Row: Godwig the Cutthroat, Lord Shakewell (don't ask), and a soldier from the wine kingdom

Shame you don't have all the little illustrations you did here set up like these are. Even for something so old they have a cool look to them compared to your later work. Maybe a few more might pop up next house cleaning you do?

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Oh, there's TONS more of these... just takes some time to mount them all. They're not really that old...5 years? Plus I had to compete with the ones my friends did, so I put a little extra into each one (easy, since they're so small, and not full body portraits). If I get more comments on these, I'll probably put more up."

The sheer personality within each one of those little portraits is stunning! And you did 40 of these? I suppose three words are in order here: "You are amazing."

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "*basks in wombat adulation*(why does that sound wrong?) 2Thanks. I really like these myself... I should probably do more someday... it's a really good excercise for your imagination, not to mention for drawing different types of faces."

I have to ask.
Shakewell?

What, his codpiece get rusty?

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Heh... I actually have no idea. When you have to come up with names for this many characters, you start to get a little... silly. But he looks like a Shakewell, doesn't he? Somehow? 2"
