SciFi and Fantasy Art Sanzalio II by Zachariah Campbell

Here's Sanzalio again, drawn hot on the heels of the first one. Again, drawn in class, blue ballpoint (I desaturated in Photoshop), no erasing... though here you can see where I had to draw over other stuff. I'm not as crazy about the face on this one (looks kind of evil), but I like the way the leather armor came out. Kind of dandy and tough at the same time.

Not sure if the puffy leather pantaloons (or trunk-hose to be accurate) are actually right for his line of work... I think he needs tough, proper pants.

They don't constrict movement like a skirt or cloak would, and if someone tried to poke his legs with a sword, they would have difficulty striking his leg because they wouldn't be able to see it, and the sword could also get tangled up in the fabric. I learned that from the comic Kabuki Zachariah Campbell replies: "Good justification! I like it! Extra cotton candy for you! "

I forgot how to spell Sanzalio though, and had to search through all the submissions that matched "san". There were a lot. The expression of form in this picture is inspiring, and I wish to see more of this character.
