SciFi and Fantasy Art Valkeria: bloodlust by Zachariah Campbell

Valkeria is a character that used to have a pic in this gallery under the name 'Valkyrie'.

The truth is, she's not a vakyrie at all, but a high-fantasy mercenary adventurer with a blemished past and a dark secret. She is of the Haemovori, an ancient fae race of beings that depend on blood for sustenance. While resembling conventional 'vampires' they are in fact alive, not undead, and not especially evil.

However that doesn't stop Val from grabbing a snack when it's available. ;)

Zachariah Campbell replies: "What I like about this is that it's one of only a few pictures of mine where the character is kind of -doing- something, rather than just standing around posing. Of course, she's still just kind of posing, and there's no background... but the bird adds some sort of context at least. I hope. "
30 Dec 2004	Sarah Ngoc My Bui	Loading... wow, this is very detailed. I like the perspective. Even though she's a warrior women, she doesn't look like the others you usually see, you know half naked. She has a pretty face, nice job. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks! I just couldn't imagine this character running out to fight half-naked. I mean, I've drawn my share of barely clad warrior women, but you'll NEVER see a chainmail bikini in this gallery.Chainmail garters maybe... "
