Aaaaaaaarrrge-gurrgle-................. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Kind of sad that my off-hand joke is generating more comments than the pic itself But seriously, I love comments like this... they're fun, and it shows that folks are engaging with the beast on some level, not just the art. Or maybe the beast is engaging with them... bwahahahaha! Hey, down Fido, down... I'm your daddy, I MADE you... down... dowawlhkglwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..." | |

| 15 Oct 2002 | Ryan Sanura Reynolds Stickney | Loading...This is great, although I have to take issue with the joints on the front legs. The upper-arm bone seems way to long to be anatomically feasible; it's skinny, too, and it looks like it'd break if you pet it too hard. I'd either put the joint of the elbow a little lower, like a dog-cat, or the wrist a little higher, like a horse. Plus, although effectively frightening, I've never seen a mammal with no nose. Seriously cool otherwise. I'd take one, but then, I'd take a tiger... Zachariah Campbell replies: "Hm. Not to be uptight, but you seem to be missing out on the "fiction" part of "science-fiction". Nevertheless, while I agree the foreleg is a -little- long, many dog breeds can have VERY high "elbows". Referring to the body shape, German Shepherds are bred (indeed, INbred) for EXACTLY that silhouette, to the point that they often have hip problems. Don't even get me started on Whippets and Greyhounds! As for the nose, how much more vestigial does a Pug's nose get, before it vanishes almost entirely from sight..?And so far, all I've mentioned are DOGS... when did I say that this THING is even a mammal? I think I did say "alien" somewhere though. Figured that would be enough... ; )" | |
| 28 Oct 2002 | Jessica Owen | Loading...It's like a lion..wolf..babboon.. thing. Heh. Nice job on the fur texture, I enjoy the sketchy lines and the creature design. It almost looks like something that would be the shepherd to those yak-things on Star Gate. Heh..ANYway.. great pic. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Cool. I hadn't even noticed how much this thing looks like a baboon. " | |
