Another pic of Vishanti, monk character I made for D&D, but on a bit more of an Indian-Hindu theme. I find that the D&D system kind of loses sight of the spiritual dimension of the Monk class, so I wanted to make a character where as a monk/nun, there's a strong religious, philosophical connection.  In this case, it's a sort of fusion of Hindu-Buddhist-Shinto animist ideas, and a lot of influence from kung-fu movies.  : )

Here again, she's without her nun's cap, but you can see her superfluous body paint. Obviously, she's been out of the temple a while, because her hair seems to have grown in since it was last shaved. I think her lips are probably too delineated.

This is a pencil sketch, and lots of photoshop.

Hello, pretty lady. *Krhm*

Beautiful, just beautifull. I love her fluffy hair and pouty lips... she looks so unique and CUTE. Brown and turquoise goes briliantly together.... biiiyuuutifull.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks kindly... she's a little -too- cute even, but heck, I gotta have my fun somehow, right? 2"

This is my favorite of all your pictures here. She's very beautiful, and she looks real with that expression.

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "You know what's really funny? A while back I got a comment from a girl in Toronto -named- Vishanti, who actually looks almost exactly like this. So even though she's drawn from my imagination, she actually DOES look like a real person! 2"

I REALLY like your coloring style. This one is a great example of that. It has the day-glo look to it, but is smooth and gradient at the same time. I think her lips are a little lined out, but it does'nt matter when the pic as a whole is BAD A**!!!

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks... it's true... the lips really are too "lined". I guess that's the problem trying to find the fine line between sketchy line drawing, and a "painted" look... it's a tricky balance."

This is a great pic! I love the line quality and the coloring; the colors you chose look really good together.

This is very nice, as is the rest of your art. I bet this one is inspired quite a bit by Massimiliano Frezatto. I just love his art.
Keep it up man, and finish your sketches sometimes2

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Yes... finishing sketches is good. Must do it eventually. Y'know, I didn't even know who Frezatto was, at least not consciously, but when I looked him up online, I was like "Hey that dude whose stuff was in Heavy Metal!". I really do dig his stuff... not sure if it influenced me, but it's certainly "my style" (if lightyears ahead). 2"

Oooo another fave...love the moodiness...when you do moody it becomes more than animeish yet more artsy than real...it's a style all yer own, bravo!

hmm, i disagree that the lips are too dilineated, this one is really cool. Although I usually want to slap you for never finishing anything beyond a sketch, the rough sketchiness with polished color actually looks cool. Kinda like the effect going on in the new Conan book. Cary Nord is a very talented but lazy artist so the colorist picks up the slack and it actually looks kinda cool

:-) Zachariah Campbell replies: "Or MAYBE Cary Nord knows that his art wouldn't be as appealing if it lost it's raw, expressive qualities, especially when it combines so well with the colouring. I'm serious, man... you're disturbed! You'd tell Degas to clean up his lines and "finish" his work too, wouldn't you? 12"

This is really really nice. I love the teal against her tan skin, its a very pretty contrast! But really, the sketchy quality of this pic is what really makes it quite beautiful. This IS finished!
