Yeah, those off-the-cuff sketches are either magic, or a complete disaster. However, no expectations=no limits, right? " | |
| 9 Sep 2002 | Darren | Loading...This one immediately caught my eye! As a matter of fact, I think it's one of my favorites! Same complaint about the eyes being too close to the side of her face though. Zachariah Campbell replies: "heh. Get used to it... I'm glad you like it. " | |
| 9 Oct 2002 | Kelli doyle | Loading...Me-yow. What a kitten. I love the doo-dads ya got with tha feet. And the exposed torso. You have a knack for the human form. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Thanks, I really liked the way the physique came out on this one. Gotta love those magic quick sketches. " | |
| 15 Oct 2002 | Jaynai | Loading...Again great position but her one foot looks a little bigger than the other. Zachariah Campbell replies: "True... the outstretched foot is a little large. Dang." | |
| 9 Dec 2002 | BBlackmoor | Loading...Does she have cloven feet? Or are they big cat feet? Other than the nonhuman feet, I think it's a neat picture. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Not cloven feet, but rather cleft-toed shoes, not unlike tabi boots (ninja footwear). Presumeably it allows for a freer range of foot-toe movement than full shoes (somewhat like rifle-mitts over regular mittens). I've never worn a pair though... " | |
| 29 Aug 2003 | Mina | Loading...Ooh... She purdy. And she could kick my tail, too. *moves tail under body just in case* me like. >^-^< she reminds me of my V:tM character, nephilim. yay for chicks with knives! | |
| 4 Oct 2003 | Darren | Loading...Well, as to the challenge, I wouldn't quite say that her facial expression strikes me as 'savage'. Though I do like the fact that she is in an action oriented pose, as most of your figures tend to be in an upright, standing position with little use of foreshortening or perspective. Geez, that sounded mean didn't it. You almost wouldn't think that I'm a fan of your stuff. Just trying to offer constructive criticism here, and the pose thing, as well as your laziness in drawin hair or spending any real time on facial features are my two biggest beefs. Zachariah Campbell replies: "Well, fair game on the faces. I don't draw "anime faces" out of laziness... I just like them. But my ability to draw different kinds of faces has gotten pretty rusty as a result. But as to the hair thing, dude, you SO need to get over this notion that there's only one way to draw hair. Since nobody's actually gonna draw 500 000 individual hairs, everybody finds different artistic interpretations or shortcuts. Anime hair is great not because it's realistic, but because it's graphic and expressive. Some hair is drawn mostly in black because that's how it looks. Sometimes you make valid points man, but often you just have a very narrow perspective about art. " | |
| 4 Mar 2004 | Katrina Marie French | Loading...I like the way she turned out too! I love her pose...she is human correct? Just wondering, because of her feet. Nice job though, this is great! Zachariah Campbell replies: "Oh, yeah... she's human. She's just wearing those "tabi" style sandals that make your foot look like it has 2 big toes. " | |
| 30 Dec 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...just out of curiosity, whats with her left hand? The middle finger is like...a box.... Zachariah Campbell replies: "uhhhhh... artistic shorthand? " | |
| 30 Dec 2004 | John Johnson | Loading...Great sketch, awesome pose, nice work...but do you realize how dangerous that knife would be to the user. Just my minor beef from someone who trains with knives and other sharp objects. Other than that it's a very cool pic. Happy New Year John Zachariah Campbell replies: "Oh, totally. I mean, what's the... er... "point" of a sharp weapon that requires you to aim the dangerous end at -yourself- every time you point it at your enemy, right?I imagine that, at best, this could be used as a sort of brute, off-hand parrying weapon, maybe in a gladitorial arena, where things are meant to look "dangerous" rather than "practical".
