  | She could barely keep her eyes open. Physically, as well as mentally, the elf ranger was at her limit. Maybe even past that. But she was running out of time. And all these distractions were not helping. She had to go on. To reach the end, regardless of how much it would cost. She trudged on, willing each heavy foot in front of the other. Each step was one step closer. She began to drag her feet, and soon, she could hardly take a step without stumbling. She cursed her lack of training, even though she had had more training than any among her peers. In the end, her muscles simply refused to heed her and she slumped to the floor. Her eyelids slid shut of their own accord. As she drifted into unconciousness, Mrecca was both proud and disappointed. She had managed to push herself this far. It was not good enough. She would have to try harder next time... Here is my first attempt at an African Elf. Mrecca's story grew out of a little joke that involved my ranger character and her tendency to get knocked out (suddenly fall asleep) frequently. Charcoal and pastel on white paper. |
