Last updated: March 28, 2004 - One new speedpaint, and two sketches :)! Hope you like 'em! Spring break is over now T_T College has been keeping me much too busy... but I've recently re-discovered how important art is to me, especially as I find myself repulsed by the art programme/departement at my University ;_; (University of Washington). I am currently aiming at a Computer Science or Electrical Engineering degree from UW, and as such have not had much time to draw...at all >_< (except on breaks!). In any case, for those who remember me (heh probably not), thank you so much for supporting me, and for those of you who are new, I hope my art doesn't make you claw your eyes out XD. Alright, the rest of this bio is more or less the same from a few years ago XD.
I usually do art with colored pencils, or else CG recently. On occasion when I feel like trying something new, watercolours/watercolour pencils or oil/acrylics (barely ever though) will capture my attention. Being a college student though, I find myself not having the time, resources, or the space to use a lot of real media X_X. This upsets me greatly, as Pencils have always been my passion... However, it also offers an opportunity for me to work more with Computer Colour, which can do things no pencil can do... I'm sure in the age we live in it's very important for me to greatly familiarize myself with CG :P. Still, I can't wait to go back and do more pencil work soon... Anyway, lots of more realism-styled art recently. I'm trying to find a good balance between the realistic, and the animated....
I absolutely adore my gaming Consoles (PS2, Gamecube, maybe XBox >_>, and GBA SP). I love to read fantasy literature (I recommend Coldfire Trilogy, Dragon Star/Prince, A Song of Ice and Fire), and will do so in my spare time when I'm not doing homework (read: never T_T).
Anyway, thank you for leaving any comments! They're very much appreciated^^.
In the future, my dream for the last 8 years or so has been to find some employment with videogame/software developing companies such as Square or Konami as a concept artist/character designer :).
Artists I adore(the big ones :)): Tetsuya Nomura, Ayami Kojima (of Castlevania/Konami fame), Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid, Zone of Enders designer)

| 12 Nov 2010 | Melissa L Withington Whitford | Loading...I love your artwork! You may find this silly, but I remember a drawing you did a looooong time ago called "Psi" that I really liked. Some kid was asking every artist and her brother to draw this character without telling those artist that a zillion other artists had been asked as well. It was pretty sneaky of whoever that was, but I had a lot of fun looking at all the different versions. | |
