Well I drew a catfish mermaid AGES ago, in fact she was my very first real fish mermaid! And she was much loved here, with lots of comments. But I thought it was probably time for a redo, and seeming as she is based on my beautiful salmon-tail catfish, who is still going strong after 4 years, I wanted to make her look good! And I thought I'd keep up the old one so we can see how far I've come

This is too cool. Ohhh! did you get Prismacolors? Sorry, that was random, but I noticed how much better the coloring its self is, and I know that decent pencils help a lot, so.... You've improved so much! the fish part is quite awesome, and the human part is great too. I love how you have made the little whisker-thingies (actuall word lost in the gryke) actually part of her on the new one, rather than just her hair. Keep drawing! I command it! ;D

I see many things that have improved. I like your idea too. Do you take art classes? I'm guessing yes. Take anatomy?

The one on the left is sooooooooo... Cool! Her face looks very much like a sea creature, and i just loooooooooove the things that come out from her face!!! She's great!!!

how old are you know that you can draw such phenominal things?

Very impressive. If you covered up more at the top she would be more so, though. The skimpy top makes her too human and makes all your mermaids have a single personality - flirt. If she ain’t a flirt, cover up. If she is a flirt, you have better talent than to only show it with her outfit.

Great drawing, like all your pics, but it’s time to show your talent more

I actually sort of like the first one better, I like her hands (I know, right?)... but I really like the speckled coloring in the newer version 2.
