Wonderful! I love mermaids based on "real" exotic fish. I am just working on a series of them myself, basing on african cichlids from Lake Tanganyika. I like the colors.

I love her "being" they way she looks2 very cool and different kind of mermaid 2 I love the colors. strong but nice. and its a great expression1 a smile but still she seems a bit shy with her hand back there2 this is truely a great image2. very nice2 keep it up your damn good at it2.

all your mermaids kinda put mine to shame. with your permission, i might try drawing mermaids in pencils, all ive ever done in watercolour, and that can get messy.

She's pretty cool! I never thought about doing non-traditional mermaids that are inspired from real fish. You are on to something! The difference is that you have tremendous skill with body shape, facial expression, and hair, etc. You're very good!
