This is the colored version of 'First Griffin' I colored it in Adobe Photoshop. It's not quite done but I thought I would get some comments first. I'm very new to photoshop so if anyone could suggest an easy way to do feathers or anything it would be appreciated.

Gorgeous coloring job. It really makes it into something nice. The matt effect is something unique... very nice. It really brings the whole picture together... the strangness of the parrot and the cheetah... and makes it into a whole. The grass is also nice, you must have spent forever on it!

1 Rebecca R. Reizner replies: "Haha I cheated on the grass. In Adobe they have a paintbrush tool that makes grass blades and automatically changes the shades of colors so it looks like grass. But sshhh don't tell anyone. I might eventually finish it so it doesn't look so flat. But right now I'm being lazy. 1 Thanks for the comment."

Ah, neat colors! Yeah, feathers are not the easiest things to paint . Helps to look at real bird's wings and see the feathers' positions on folded wings vs. open wings. The front part of your gryphon is very powerful looking (love the head!), which overwhelms the cheetah hindquarters a bit. You might want to make the meld between the two halves a bit more gradual, mix a bit more of the spotted fur up the back toward the neck, maybe with a back ridge of the black feathers running down to the tail. Makes fantasy a bit more realistic. *grin*

1 Rebecca R. Reizner replies: "Thanks for the suggestions. If I ever get back to this drawing I will definitely try that. "
